I created Moving Through as an intersection of loves in my life: connecting with families and children; connecting through movement; and connecting with and through food: growing it, cooking it and eating it.
I’m a farmer’s daughter and grew up with my hands in the soil, knowing where the food on my plate came from. Movement – especially yoga and capoeira – has always been a resource I employed for healing, empowerment and resilience. I have almost 20 years of experience as a speech language pathologist working with children – from infants in the NICU to teens with autism – who have feeding challenges. As a yoga and mindfulness teacher I help students use movement and stillness to create resilience to stress, both common stressors and uncommon. As a mama, I teach my children about the importance of knowing where their food comes from through gardening and cooking with them.
Moving Through is a conduit, a space that connects my love for people and this earth and allows me to help others move through their challenges and find joy in the everyday activities of movement and eating.
Mission
To elevate joy in everyday activities, like eating and moving, and in turn improve our overall wellness.
Vision
Moving Through uses modalities of wellness and healing and therapeutic approaches to encounter joys and empower families and individuals to connect in nourishing everyday activities.
